Recommended Resource: "The Elements of Style" by Will Strunk and E. B. White

Source: NY Times
Since 1957, The Elements of Style has been a hallmark of English grammar and composition in the United States. It may be less than a hundred pages long, but the advice that Will Strunk and E. B. White has resonated with teachers and students alike for over 50 years. The authors cover topics ranging from from when to use and not to use commas, which words to avoid, how to divide paragraphs, and other writing basics. Even The New Yorker claims this book is "direct, correct, and delightful." Best of all, you can buy (or rent!) this wonderful resource in traditional paperback or through e-books if you prefer.

  1. Nice write-up! Every time I hear the song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” I am reminded of

‘goals.’ A writer's journey starts when he bites the tip of his pen, thinks about ideas,

and put it to writing. But how does a writer create an effective narrative?
